There are many companies online which offer transcription jobs for beginners, even without experience. Most of them hire all the time and accept applications internationally.
If you are a native English speaker, that’s a huge advantage, but also anyone who can speak, read and write English correctly, has good typing speed, no hearing problems, can consider becoming a transcriptionist.
The basis of this job is listening the audio files (interviews, podcasts, video tutorials, etc) and typing in words correctly and accurately as you hear it.
Here is a list of the top 15 well known and established transcription job websites, where you can go and apply for work even as a complete newbie!
1. Accutran Global
accutranglobal.com is always interested in hearing from new transcribers. They have peak times when there is a ton of work and non-peak times of the year when there may be no work at all.
Pay rate is by the word $0.005 to start.
Payments are made on the 15th of each month.
You will need to pass a transcription test to be considered. Accutran Global is not ideal for parents or caregivers who are responsible for others; you are expected to finish claimed work as soon as possible. In other words, you cannot afford to have any distractions delaying your turnaround times.
2. Appenscribe
appenscribe.appen.com.au offers global transcription jobs online. So if you are fluent in multiple languages, you will have more work available to you.
To get started, you will need to register an account and pass two small transcription tests. Contractors report different pay rates, but you can expect a rate of about $0.005 per word.

Work is available on an as-needed basis. To get started, you just need to submit a short form and then head over to their testing page.
7. GoTranscript
Is a professional transcription company, founded in 2005 in Edinburgh, Scotland and hires people worldwide. They have very responsive live chat support, and you can also connect with them via Skype for all questions and help you may need.
To get accepted for the job, you’ll have to pass two tests, the quiz and short audio file of 3-4 minutes, following their guidelines. Work flow is constant, there will always be available files for work, and you can freely choose audio files to work on.
You’ll earn $0.60 per audio minute transcribed, or more. Their top monthly earners bring in around $1215.

You’ll get paid weekly, via PayPal and can earn up to $1495 a month if you are dedicated.

They will let you know within 48 hours if you're approved to start working as a transcriber.
9. Scribie
